Mayo Clinic Gets Energy Efficiency Rebate

Mayo Cinic’s Saint Marys Hospital is eligible for a Mayo Clinic energy efficiency rebate worth nearly $12,000.

The control system was installed by the hospital on its kitchen vent fan. It regulates the airflow based on cooking demand, rather than continuously running.

Minnesota Energy Resources announced that the reduced fan run times will result in a savings of over 9,500 therms and more than $7,500 annually in natural gas costs. The payback period is 1.7 years.

Minnesota Energy provided a $11,893 rebate check to the clinic in recognition of Mayo’s conservation efforts.
